So this may be a bit advanced, but you could leverage the query string of a URL (e.g. yourwebsite.com/form/1234?field_123=value) in order to populate a default value when someone lands on a form. To do this, follow these steps:
- Build your Form
- Add your questions
- If not on the page that displays all questions, click "View Questions"
- You will now see a label with the key that you need to pass in the URL (e.g. field_1234_5678)
- Simply add this URL to the query string of the URL. For example if the URL to the form is yourwebsite.com/form/1234 simply add ?field_1234_5678=baseball to the end of the URL. (yourwebsite.com/form/1234?field_1234_5678=baseball)
- This will now pre-populate the value on the form.
You can also use this technique on a hidden field to store data from the source.
Please note this will only work on new submissions, it will be overwritten if they are editing their response.
