How do I setup self-signup for membership cards, that I need to approve?

With PeopleVine Memberships you have the flexibility of allowing people to sign up on their own via your website, but require your staff to manually approve them before their card is active.  Follow these steps to set this up:

  1. Login to the Control Panel
  2. Setup a new membership program
  3. Set "How is this membership card distributed?" to "ID Card used to access account items".


  4. Fill in the necessary details and then set "Allow people to signup online, but set their status to pending approval."


  5. Click create to setup your membership program

Once this is setup, PeopleVine will generate the registration screens for someone to sign up as a member, but remain in pending status until you activate them.

 

Send an Email Notification After they Register

When someone signs up, you may want to send them an e-mail confirmation to inform them that their membership is currently being reviewed.  To setup, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Connect > Push Notifications > New Notification
  2. Setup the email notification (or sms) that will be sent to the person after they register.
  3. Once you've setup and designed your notification, you will see a link to Schedule When to Send
  4. Find the trigger that says Applies to become a Member and click on it
  5. Click on Apply to every membership or the specific membership program you want to assign this to.

Now when someone signs up, they will receive an initial email.

 

Activating a Pending Membership Card

To activate a member, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Reward > Memberships > View All Members
  2. You can filter for everyone in pending status by clicking on Filter By Status and set to Pending
  3. Click the activate link next to their status


  4. Confirm everything is correct and then set their status to Active

Send an Email Notification Once They Are Approved

Now that they are approved you may want to send them an e-mail confirmation to confirm it.  Follow these steps:

  1. Go to Connect > Push Notifications > New Notification
  2. Setup the email notification (or sms) that will be sent to the person after they register.
  3. Once you've setup and designed your notification, you will see a link to Schedule When to Send
  4. Find the trigger that says When an ID or Loyalty Card is set to Active and click on it
  5. Click on Apply to every membership or the specific membership program you want to assign this to.

Now once they are triggered to active they will receive this email confirmation.
